One of the most remarkable features of Taobao is the ability to use an image to search for the item you’re looking for within this vast marketplace. Since traditional keyword searches often yield irrelevant or limited results, using an image can be the most effective way to find replicas or specific products.

Step 1: Prepare Your Image

To get started, you’ll need to download an image of the item you want to find. Ensure that the image is:

Clear and of decent resolution.
Shows the item from the front.
Centered in the frame.

For this guide, we’ll use the following example image:

Step 2: Switch to the Chinese Version of Taobao

By default, you may be redirected to the "World" version of the Taobao website, which is designed for users outside mainland China. However, the World version does not support image search, and since your items will be shipped to China, you need to use the China Mainland version.

To switch, go to the top-left corner of the homepage and click here:

Select the second option, which is the China Mainland version. Once switched, you’ll notice a camera icon in the search bar:

Step 3: Perform an Image Search

Click on the camera icon in the search bar and upload the image you’ve prepared. If the uploaded image matches any listings on Taobao, you’ll see search results like this:
